We Drain Pools
Your Pool Should be completely drained
every 3-5 Years
Why you Need to Drain Your Pool
Unfortunately, most of the water throughout the Valley is very hard. Hard water is not great for pools and makes it more challenging to balance the water chemistry. As the pool water evaporates it leaves behind various minerals and the pool water becomes even harder. This daily evaporation process adds up and eventually the pool becomes overwhelmed with very hard water. What's worse is that there are pockets of areas throughout the Valley where the water is extremely high. These areas need to be drained even more frequently. The harder the water in your area, the more often you will need to drain your pool water.
Another issue is your pool water collects phosphates and organic material that are so small, your pool filter simply cannot filter it out. Your regular pool chemicals like chlorine also does not treat these phosphates and organic material in your pool water (chlorine only kills the bacteria and algae). These organic materials are actually FOOD for ALGAE. So if your phosphate and organic materials levels are high, you will soon struggling to keep algae under control. These phosphates and organic material can be treated with a high quality phosphate remover, however there are many lesser products which do a poor job and make the situation worse. This is almost always an add on treatment and not included with your weekly service. Without addressing organics in your pool, the need for draining the pool increases.
Once the level of these organic materials gets so high, your water will be unable to accept more chlorine and treat bacteria in your pool water. High TDS (total dissolved solids) is the result. Read more about total dissolved solids here.
Draining your pool water completely, every 3-5 years helps rid your pool of these collected levels of phosphates, organic material, and other dissolved solids in your pool water. After draining your pool it will now be easier to maintain and keep clean with regular pool chemicals and weekly cleaning. If you do not drain your pool at least every 5 years, you will continue to have recurring problems such as cloudy water, algae growth, and you will spend more money on chemicals just to keep your pool clean.
We also drain pools in our green pool clean up service, acid wash cleaning, and chlorine wash services.
